Since the beginning, human civilisation has been linked to energy. For reasons we are all aware of, we are now facing a fundamental shift in energy production: renewables instead of hydrocarbons.
Since the end of the last century, Germany and the European Union have been a frontrunner in technology and legislation.
Due to its geographical location, Egypt has every opportunity to play a key role in this new era – becoming even champion in renewables.
As an Egyptian born in the German city of Aachen, whose career has taken me to Brussels, the capital of the EU, I feel a responsibility to contribute to this technology transfer.
As the daughter of Dr. Hani El-Touni, this has meant reviving his company under a new name and with the updated focus on renewables.
